How to Sow

  • Sow seeds individually, approx 2 per cell or small pot
  • Cover seeds with a thin layer of compost and water
  • Seeds may take approx. 2 weeks before germination

Plant Care

  • Once seedlings are a few inches tall, they may be transplanted to larger pots
  • Chilli plants need the long warm days of the summer in order to fruit
  • Plants may be brought outside once warmer weather arrives, or kept in a greenhouse / cold frame

AllotMe’s Tips

  • For best results, sow chilli seeds indoors from late Winter onwards, so the plants have a long summer of growth
  • Chilly plants are actually perennial! So if you keep them in pots, they can be brought indoors during the colder months so you don't need to sow a new crop in the next season
