How to Sow

  • Water soil before sowing to avoid disturbing the seeds once planted
  • Create drills/trenches in your soil so the seeds are approx half and inch deep
  • Sow seeds approx. 4 inches apart in rows approx. 12 inches apart
  • Cover the seeds and gently pat down to firm the soil
  • Seeds take approx. 2 weeks to germinate before seedlings appear through the soil

Plant Care

  • After about 8 weeks, the plants should be approx. 8 inches tall, with the beginnings of the beetroots appearing on the surface of the soil
  • Water regularly to keep the soil moist

AllotMe’s Tips

  • Both the root vegetable and the leaves can be harvesting for eating
  • If the plant growth is stagnant, use nitrogen-rich fertiliser
