How to Sow

  • Sow direct outdoors in Early Spring for a Summer Crop, or late Summer for an Autumn Crop
  • Make even rows, spaced 18 inches apart, approx 1cm deep
  • Sprinkle the seeds evenly along your trench
  • Cover with compost, pat down and water

Plant Care

  • Once seedlings emerge, thin them out to be approx 18 inches apart
  • If sown indoors, harden then off by gradually bringing them outside for longer periods of time in the day for a week and then transplant
  • When transplanting to their permanent location, water well the day before and dig a hole big enough so their lowest leaves are at ground level

AllotMe’s Tips

  • Fully matured Kale plants can take up a lot of space, so be mindful where you eventually plant them!
